Rosslyn Neighborhood: Rosslyn will be appealing to all travelers for its quick access to downtown, the National Mall and Georgetown. It is easy to walk to Georgetown, just cross over the Key Bridge. The Metro ride to DCA is about 10 minutes, and there is an express bus that can take you directly to Dulles airport. Active travelers will enjoy riding their bike to Smithsonian museums along trails. Rosslyn is home to mostly young professionals. This area is the commercial center of Arlington; you’ll find better nightlife and activity options in the Clarendon neighborhood one stop away, but can expect plenty of fast casual restaurants around Rosslyn.

Things to Do: Rosslyn is the best stop for visiting the Iwo Jima Memorial and offers handy access to the Mount Vernon Trail, which can be enjoyed by joggers and bikers, as well as tourists looking to stretch their legs. Walk across the key bridge and standup paddle board up and down the Potomac while taking in views of Washington, DC. It’s a scenic walk to Arlington National Cemetery to catch the changing of the guards ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The DC neighborhood of Georgetown, with all of the dining and shopping options it has to offer, is a short distance across the Key Bridge—in good weather, take the walk across the bridge and visit the small but charming Francis Scott Key Park.

What to Eat: While you’ll have more dining and nightlife options elsewhere in Arlington, you’ll find almost any sort of fast casual option in Rosslyn, catering to professionals grabbing lunch. However, if you’re looking for dinner in Rosslyn, head to Wilson Boulevard for Southern staples at Tupelo Honey Café or pho at Pho 75.
