The Best Farragut Hotel: Club Quarters
Why: Often Lowest Rates
There are five hotels within a short walk of the Farragut Orange and Red line stations. Of the five we recommend Club Quarters. Club Quarters will not impress a loved one, but at the same time it will provide tourist and business travelers alike with adequate accommodations at rates below the nearby competitors. A vast majority of all reviews are positive for Club Quarters, and guests will get free wifi. Some travelers complained about the small rooms and that there is also no breakfast offered in the lobby. Keep in mind, each hotel near the Farragut Metro charges at least $35 per night for parking including Club Quarters. Weekend visitors to DC will find that rates at nearby hotels drop drastically and therefore it might be best to look elsewhere over choosing Club Quarters.
The trouble with hotels in downtown DC, and especially Club Quarters is that rates climb drastically during the week. You can expect rates to hover above $200 for Hampton Inn, Sonder The Quincy, Hilton and Mayflower Renissance. The good thing is that rates fall as business travelers leave and that frees up rates so that tourists can take advantage and stay at upscale hotels like Hilton or Mayflower Renaissance. As for this location Hampton Inn is probably the best all-around option for most tourists. Enter your dates in the widget below to find the best hotel deal at Farragut.
Compare Farragut HotelsFarragut Sq. Neighborhood: The area around Farragut Square is mostly a commercial district. With K Street—famous home to Washington lobbyists—as its northern border, this area is bustling from 9 to 5, but tends to clear out after dinner and on weekends. Like many of the city’s urban parks, the Squares draw a number of DC’s homeless, but generally you should expect to feel safe walking around. At lunch time the square is filled with food trucks. At Farragut you are an easy walk to tourist attractions on the National Mall, and within a few block to the White House. For visitors seeking an area with a strong neighborhood feel, Farragut may lack charm.
Things to Do: Your are in easy walking distance to the rest of the tourist attractions on the National Mall. Other attractions in the area include the newly reopened Renwick Gallery, part of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
What to Eat: The 9 to 5 nature of the area can make finding an open coffee shop or lunch spot difficult on weekends, but you’ll have plenty of sit-down options. Farragut Square in particular is a popular weekday spot for food trucks. DC is currently all about Buredo, where you can get a sushi burrito. For dinner, Brassiere Beck serves up European cuisine—think mussels and fries with good Belgian beer—or visit DC landmark the Old Ebbitt Grill, located across the street from the White House.
