The Best Greenbelt Hotel: Hampton Inn
Why: Free Breakfast, Wifi, Parking, Low Rates
There are a few hotels near the Greenbelt Metro station which also services as a MARC and Amtrak station. It is common to think about staying in this area if you are flying in and out of BWI. As for nearby hotels, we recommend the Hampton Inn. The drawback to Greenbelt, as well as the Hampton Inn, is that it is not easy to walk to the Metro and surprisingly none of the hotels offer a free shuttle to the Metro. That means travelers will need to rely on a taxi, or parking at the station which is available for a little over $5 per day. Because getting to and from the Metro from the hotel is a nuance we suggest looking at Shady Grove over Greenbelt. We suggest the Hampton because rates are usually around $125 per night. This will always be much cheaper than the nearby Hampton Inn at the Silver Spring Metro. Guests can expect free parking, breakfast and wifi, plus a small gym and pool. The vast majority of reviews praise the Hampton Inn. It’s a good value all around, but look at other stations first for similar priced hotels in a better location.
As for other hotel options near the Greenbelt Station there is also a Days Inn a few blocks away from the Hampton Inn. The Days Inn would be considered by most travelers as an economy option. Rates will be on average $30 to $40 less than Hampton Inn. Parking at Days Inn is free, so is wifi and breakfast. If you don’t mind the short drive to the Metro Greenbelt is an affordable place to stay outside Washington, DC.
