We like Crystal City as a good location for tourist during the weekend because hotel rates drop tremendously as business travelers leave town on Friday. Therefore, depending on the occasion you have a number of options for hotels. One thing to consider is how far you are comfortable walking to the Metro from the hotel. The Westin, Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Marriott (Gateway) and sister Marriott (DCA) are all and easy five minute walk to the Metro. Other options like Holiday Inn, Hilton, Residence Inn, Crowne Plaza, Courtyard, Hyatt, and Renissance are within walking distance, but take roughly 10 to 15 minutes to get to the Metro station. All of the local hotels have an airport shuttle. Of the bunch we suggest the Hampton Inn.
