Hotels Near NoMa Metro

1484271751_08_thumbs_upRecommended Hotel: Courtyard
Why: Steps from the Metro, Affordable Weekend Rates

There are three hotel options within walking distance to the NoMa or New York Ave. Metro station. Of the three we recommend prioritizing Courtyard by Marriott. Weekend rates are often the most affordable of the three, and the hotel is literally steps from the Metro station. The nearby Hyatt Place is a new hotel and on average has lower weekday rates. Parking is over $35 for all three of these hotels. Each offer free Wifi. The problem with these three options is that hotels in better locations generally run at the same rates. Make sure to check out staying at hotels near Metro Center or Gallery / Chinatown before settling on NoMa. In any case, if staying near the NoMa station is a priority look at Courtyard as the best first option.

About NoMa Area

Who is Best for this Location?

thumbs_up NoMa is a great neighborhood for visitors wishing to explore DC’s up and coming neighborhoods or who will enjoy the convenient access to the Beltway. While Union Market is very family-friendly, there aren’t many other activities for kids in the area.

nieghborhood_vibe_48Neighborhood Vibe: NoMa, which stands for North of Massachusetts Avenue, is a rapidly developing urban neighborhood in northeast DC. NoMa sits on the red line and is home to a diverse mix of families and young professionals in row houses and new apartment buildings. NoMa is convenient to Union Station and to trendy H Street. This is a safe neighborhood, though it can get rowdy on weekends, and visitors are advised to be cautious while walking around at night.

things_to_do_48Things to Do: Union Market is the biggest attraction in NoMa. A revitalized indoor market, you’ll find food stalls and sit-down dining options, local artisians selling their wares, as well as butchers, bakers, and dairy farmers. The upstairs at Union Market, Dock 5, hosts a rotating series of events. During the summer, NoMa hosts outdoor movies in an asphalt park. This neighborhood is also home to Gallaudet University. The Capitol building and the National Mall are within walking distance, though most visitors may prefer to use the metro or take a cab. NoMa also offers access to the Metropolitan Branch Trail, a popular trail for biking and running.

what_to_east_48What to Eat: NoMa offers a number of fast casual restaurants such as Potbelly’s but currently has few sit-down options. However, nearby H Street offers a plethora of options from French fare at Le Grenier to burgers at Big Board. You will also find dining options at nearby Union Market.
