A Local’s Guide to Hyatt Hotels in Washington, DC

Hyatt has many hotels near the DC metro lines, with 10 locations scattered throughout DC. The best Hyatt hotel is the Courthouse/Clarendon Hyatt Place in Arlington. The combination of affordable rates, fun location and convenience to the metro and major DC sights makes it stand out compared to other Hyatts.

The Shady Grove Hyatt House offers the cheapest rates out of all the other Hyatts, but the distance to major DC attractions and the need for a car makes the convenience factor go down. The Hyatts located in the actual DC area like Federal Center, Metro Center, New York Ave and Union Station were overall lackluster and expensive, with very high parking fees. Bethesda and Rosslyn are both very similar to each other with moderately high weekday rates and affordable weekend rates, but overall can’t compete with the Courthouse/Clarendon Hyatt’s deals.

If you plan on staying at a Hyatt for your DC trip, look at the Hyatt Place near Courthouse/Clarendon metro station first.

The Metro system in DC is fast, convenient and cheap. In fact, it’s cheaper to take the metro than to drive around, whether you’re in DC for business, vacation or just visiting.

Parking anywhere in the DC area can be expensive and frustrating. Add on the hectic traffic and limited street parking, and you’re looking at spending more time and money than it’s really worth.
